It’s truly the sum of the parts that makes for a successful event, or perhaps one word sums it all up, “harmony!” We are so grateful to all our donors, performers, attendees, business supporters, volunteers, and Infinite Music Board of Directors who made our recent fundraising event, “Infinite Music In Harmony,” a great success, netting over $10,000 to keep music education and appreciation at the forefront for local, deserving youth.
And what a harmonious afternoon it was as everyone in attendance came together to give back to a cause that unites us all—sharing the gift of music. We so appreciate the time and talents of our amazing performers: Mestizo Beat, Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan, Chris Pierce, Von Bush Quartet, and Martin Paris. Each one of these talented musicians knows the benefits music has brought to their own lives, and why music matters.
We know the lessons of music are many but I think philanthropist Ted Turner puts it well: “Music has a great power for bringing people together. With so many forces in this world acting to drive wedges between people, it’s important to preserve those things that help us experience our common humanity.”
That perfectly sums up the “universal language” philosophy on which Infinite Music was founded. Our nonprofit is dedicated to making musical opportunities affordable and accessible for deserving youth because so much research underscores music’s lifetime benefits, especially when we’re introduced to it as kids. And when you give young people the opportunity for music education and appreciation, to begin thinking musically, you instill in them mindful habits that last a lifetime, such as the ability to deal with ambiguity and to solve problems, perseverance, and a drive for excellence. Even the creative skills children develop through music carries them toward new ideas, new experiences, and new challenges, not to mention personal satisfaction.
Infinite Music™ believes that music is the springboard to learning for all students, regardless of academic level, language, or socioeconomic status. When young people are introduced to music, it serves as a great equalizer, a force for good, and a brilliant outlet for creative expression, and a way to bring harmony to more young people’s lives. Simply put, harmony begets harmony.
If you missed out on our special day in Harmony this year, we hope you’ll join us next year when we return with an afternoon of music and community. And if you have not signed up for our email list, please do so here, and we’ll keep you tuned in on all things Infinite Music.
